Having had horses all my life and almost losing my left arm to a riding accident, I sympatize with the horses. All thoroughbreds have their "1st" birthday, regardless of true date of birth on Jan.1 so we have horses younger than 2 yrs old on that track,fed a high protein diet, and raced before their bones knit together. This practice must be stopped.
