Saturn in Libra

You are best to use your Libra energy as an Adept and as Athena. I will explain.

As an Adept
The temple always has black and white squares, not grey. This symbolizes the polarities such as good and evil, one you are intimately involved with .

In freemasonry the temple floor is always black and white. This is to symbolize the alternating of yin and yang energies and one of the Laws of the Universe: All things are always changing to their opposites.

Like the High Priestess you sit between the black and white pillars , Joachim and Boaz. You mediate for the collective.

This touches upon every single one of the 7 Hermetic Principles

THE SEVEN HERMETIC PRINCIPLES

I. THE PRINCIPLE OF MENTALISM - "THE ALL is MIND; The Universe is Mental."

II. THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE - "As above, so below; as below, so above."

III. THE PRINCIPLE OF VIBRATION - "Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates."

IV. THE PRINCIPLE OF POLARITY - "Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled."

V. THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM - "Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates."

VI. THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSE AND EFFECT - "Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law." [also see Emerson's Essay on Compensation, free eBook on my site]

VII. THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER - "Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes "

If you work these laws to their utmost as an Adept, you alternate so fast between black and white, it seems like you are doing nothing, standing still. This card shows the Goddess in charge of keeping the planets in their orbit by just such eternal motion/vibration or equilibriating , a higher octave of the High Priestess, usually called Justice and card XI. Here from the Crowley deck. She stands absolutely motionless which is an illusion.

She is like mighty Oya of the Niger River. Because Oya dances, I am and you are. If this woman stopped her mediating the world would collapse into chaos. Think of yourself that way.

As Athena
A final image that comes to mind is the goddess Athena. She is the ultimate Libran, a father’s daughter, a smart strategist, a fearless warrior of just wars, hating war and wanting to get it over with quickly when necessary.

You know all this. What makes it so appropriate for you, however, is the Medusa or Gorgon’s head she always carries on her breastplate.

Marlon Brando - Saturn in Scorpio

photo from wiki [fair use] Marlon Brando on the set of "Streetcar Named Desire"

Marlon Brando had Saturn in Scorpio. Eeven in his late interview with Larry King, he was reticent to reveal any personal information.

Here's an excerpt from an essay by Truman Capote, Portraits and Observations:

"Brando has not forgotten Bud. When he speaks of the boy he was, the boy seems to inhabit him. "My mother was everything to me. I used to come home from school ..." He hesitated, as though waiting for me to picture him scuffling along an afternoon street. "There wouldn't be anybody home. Nothing in the icebox." Lantern slides: empty rooms, a kitchen. "Then the telephone would ring. Some bar. 'We've got a lady down here. You better come get her.'" The image leaped forward in time. Bud is 18, and: "I thought if she loved me enough, trusted me enough, we'll live together and I'll take care of her. Once, later on, that really happened. She left my father and came to live with me in New York, when I was in a play. I tried so hard. But my love wasn't enough. She couldn't care enough. She went back. And one day" - his voice grew flatter, yet the emotional pitch ascended - "I didn't care any more. She was there. In a room. Holding on to me. And I let her fall. Because I couldn't take it any more - watch her breaking apart, like a piece of porcelain. I stepped right over her. I walked right out. Since then, I've been indifferent."

Thought Provoking

Beauty no accident.

The beauty of a race or family, their grace and graciousness in all gestures, is won by work: like genius, it is the end result of the accumulated work of generations. One must have made great sacrifices to good taste, one must have done much and omitted much for its sake – seventeenth-century France is admirable in both respects – and good taste must have furnished a principle for selecting company, place, dress, sexual satisfaction; one must have preferred beauty to advantage, habit, opinion, and inertia. Supreme rule of conduct: before oneself too, one must not “let oneself go.” The good things are immeasurably costly; and the law always holds that those who have them are different than those who acquire them. All that is good is inherited: whatever is not inherited is imperfect, is a mere beginning.

In Athens, in the time of Cicero, who expresses his surprise about this, the men and youths were far superior in beauty to the women. But what work and exertion in the service of beauty had the male sex there imposed on itself for centuries! For one should make no mistake about the method in this case: a breeding of feelings and thoughts alone is almost nothing (this is the great misunderstanding underlying German education, which is wholly illusory): one must first persuade the body. Strict perseverance in significant and exquisite gestures together with the obligation to live only with people who do not “let themselves go” – that is quite enough for one to become significant and exquisite, and in two or three generations all this becomes inward. It is decisive for the lot of a people and of humanity that culture should begin in the right place – not in the “soul” (as was the fateful superstition of the priests and half-priests): the right place is the body, the gesture, the diet, physiology; the rest follows from that. Therefore the Greeks remain the first cultural event in history: they knew, they did, what was needed; and Christianity, which despised the body, has been the greatest misfortune of humanity so far.

To Aall Cancers Everywhere and Especially Saturn in Cancer

I love the sheltering heart
the sky-wide soul

that makes sure the child in line isn't overlooked,

that sees the turn signal and let's you in,

or notices someone staring into a handful of change and says"Can I help? It's no trouble."

The heart that grabs your hand,

looks you straight in the eye and says,"Look at me. I can see you are hurting. We have to talk."

Then holds all your convoluted ramblings,

your emotional injuries, like they're tangled necklaces

of rubies and pearls,

sorts them patiently

,and smilingly places them all around your necklike you're the princess

with a silly, wet kiss.

The heart that, in a crowded foyer,

isn't rushing for the door,

but scanning the crowd for tiny people,

pregnant women, the wispy elder with a cane,

and not afraid to say loudly,"Easy does it, watch out for your neighbor."
The heart that like a big umbrella, sits through endless, boring community meetings,to be able to

say,"Is the playground still budgeted in?

Can we plant some trees near those benches?

Put a light and a phone booth near that bus stop?

A recycle bin near the picnic tables?"

Looking out for everyone.

A sensitive heart

that asks one last time,"Are you sure you fed the dog?

Do you need anything from the store?

Would you like the last brownie?"

I love the sheltering heart,

whose peace increases with giving

which feels everyone's unspoken needs

fine-tuning the instrument of true living.

Ah, do I love the sheltering heart.
